Morio worms, also called giant mealworm, are the larger version of the much smaller mealworm. Morio worms are very suitable as a food source for the larger bird species and the larger reptiles such as the bearded dragon.
You can also keep these worms longer than crickets.
Morio worms can best be kept at a temperature between 15 and 20 Celsius, so they will remain good for a long time and they will not quickly pupate.
They should never be stored in the refrigerator or too cold.
Morio worms are best kept in a spacious PVC crate with smooth walls.
As a food you can offer morio worms bran or wholemeal bread. You can also give some fruits and vegetables such as apples and carrots. Morio worms are not fussy and will eat almost anything, even dog food and oatmeal. You can prevent mold by not giving too much moisture-rich food. Offer new food
again when the previous one is completely used up.
